Riding my bike back home from the food co-op was kind of scary today. Around Greenwood cemetery and near 27th Street and 5th Avenue, the storm clouds showed up. The sky darkened and I could see the storm hit around Sunset Park. Lots of dust and wind blowing up a mess. I was worried it was rain but it was mainly dust, dirt and debris. As I approached Sunset Park it was less scary but it was raining. Around 40th Street I took shelter under a few different awnings. Waited for the heaviest of the storm to pass and then rode off to Bay Ridge. Lots of leaves and twigs in the road; had to avoid the larger items out of fear of damaging by tires.
